Nord Contemporary ApS defines space through structural logic and material permanence. We operate at the intersection of architectural planning and bespoke joinery.
We maintain a focused, private practice at Strandlodsvej 34. To ensure the integrity of our architectural drafting and fabrication phases, we manage all client interactions through a structured consultation process.
Strandlodsvej 34, 4600 Køge — Our studio is a functioning workshop where material research meets architectural planning.
We categorize our output into four core disciplines. Each is handled with the same technical rigor, from regional planning to the radius of a table edge.
Structural reconfiguration and spatial planning for private residences and workspaces.

Auditing Guide
We begin with environmental light-mapping and structural verification. We do not work from photos alone.
Proposals are presented as architectural section drawings. This ensures spatial honesty and fabrication accuracy.
Once technicals are frozen, we coordinate with our Køge-based workshops for specialized component production.
At Nord Contemporary ApS, we do not cite percentages or award counts. We prove value through the technical documentation of our projects.

All solid wood is sourced from FSC-certified regional forests in Scandinavia, processed in local mills.
Our studio is led by a collective of architects and fabricators who believe that high-end design is an act of local coordination.
We operate as a high-trust advisory. Every project is overseen directly by the studio founders, ensuring that the structural integrity of the initial concept survives the entire fabrication lifecycle.

Joinery, Steelwork & Installation
In an era of mass-produced interior components, Nord Contemporary ApS argues for the value of the "heavy interior." This is not an aesthetic preference, but a structural commitment. When we select solid Danish oak over composite alternatives, we are designing for a century, not a season.
Our material audits consider the lifecycle of every element. We analyze how cold-rolled steel will patina over twenty years and how natural masonry will interact with the changing Nordic light. This is why we refuse to provide speculative renderings without first mapping the site's physical environment.
"Before selecting a surface, ask: Can this material be repaired without replacement? How does it anchor the light of the room?"
Our cold-rolled steel components are finished with a natural linseed oil treatment, preserving the industrial honesty of the material while providing a tactile, organic interface.
Before committing to a bespoke project, evaluate these structural criteria.
Spatial Utilization
Bespoke furniture eliminates dead space in irregular Nordic floorplans.
Material Continuity
Matching floor finishes to furniture joinery creates a unified spatial volume.
Structural Anchoring
Our pieces are often anchored into the building’s skeleton for seismic stability.
Lead Times
Expect 12–16 weeks for fabrication after the technical drafting is frozen.
Consultation Fee
Our initial walkthrough includes a flat site assessment fee, credited to the project.
Revision Limits
We allow two major technical revision cycles before the fabrication lock.
